Derek “Deek” Diedricksen visits another tree house rental in southern Vermont- one that is made almost entirely out of natural, on-site, materials. This two story tree house features four beds, an indoor toilet, and a very unique bridge to it all!

  1. great share Deek…you are a treasure. In the metaphysical community which I am apart of; trees are known as the Wisdom Keepers. From British Columbia, warm regards, Bruce

  2. What sort of planning permission did it need? (in the UK you’d need PP otherwise it would be deemed illegal, and you’d have to tear it down, even if it was on private land.)

  3. Deek I’m lost on how to find tiny houses on airb&b. I asked Airbnb how to find them and they had no idea what I was talking about. Is there a list somewhere put together a rental tiny houses on Airbnb? I try several different states but have yet been able to find one tiny house for rent. Is there any help that you can offer me Deek?

  4. Odysseus had the bed he carved out of a tree.

Ok…and the outdoor shower, not as bad as I thought it would be. But the cabana got me thinking. Well first, does it rain in there? But I’m always questioning modern (?) post-modern(?)…contemporary – that works… I question contemporary living arrangements and what affects they have on the body. Having the satellite living would force you to put more thought into your daily routine. I mean, do you eat for entertainment if you have to go to another building and it’s raining, or do you just read a book until you doze off? Pop science would have us believe that the daily grind is killing most of us, but nobody seems to get off the hamster wheel. And then again, is life better just because you don’t seem that connected to the social order? What if everybody had their own little piece of forest, but they came together to make the community run? I’m just thinking there’s got to be a simpler way to feel connected to nature and to humanity at the same time.

  5. absolutely gorgeous when I finally travel this will be on my list of things to see not just a woodworker but Extreme talent in getting all of the right branches and symmetry built into it I left this I would live in a treehouse permanently
