Off Grid Overland Ambulance Tiny House – Retired Fireman’s Dream Rig

DESCRIPTION:

Aside from being a retired firefighter and paramedic, Jason is authentic and hilarious! “Happy,” as he goes by, converted a 2001 Ford E450 ambulance into a bold tiny home on wheels. With its original red paint and many preexisting switches and compartments still intact, this rig seems like it was designed for a DIY conversion.

There’s a solid butcher block set the kitchen, a hidden toilet, and a top-loading fridge for all the necessities. His bed is elevated and secured with unistruts to create an open garage underneath that contains tools, outdoor gear, and enough room for two bikes! Happy keeps the at a comfortable temperature for him and his pup Willow with a Coleman AC unit and two Max fans. The exterior has more storage than the average, and he uses them all creatively!

    • Tiny Home Tours, I subscribed to your channel a while back, and have enjoyed many of the videos you have aired and most of the people. I’ve been meaning for a while to comment, and after I watched Happy’s guided tour of his overlandbulance, I immediately used your link to his YouTube channel, watched another tour of his van, subscribed; but when I was about to comment on his second tour, I decided to compliment you for the many hours of enjoyment your channel has brought my way.

Thank you for all you do to showcase tiny homes and the people who chose to shrink their possessions to live in tiny homes, while expanding their lives. Hopefully, in the next year, I’ll be able to sell my condo, and likely live in a tiny home on wheels, probably a van or something similar. I am 77 yrs old and have a mean/nasty back, but I feel I still have a few more miles to travel.

Please be well and be safe, and keep on showing the beautiful variety of people who want to follow their dreams and share their love of their tiny homes and the freedom it gives them.

    • awesome for sure. I am so impressed by Him and the build! <3 have a blast visiting all over to see Your Family and Friends <3

  1. This is an awesome conversion! As far as I’m concerned, an ambulance is the way to go if you’re traveling! You’ve done a great job! Thanks for sharing!

  2. Well I was surprised when you said that ambulance’s come in different sizes. I’m from the south I’ve only seen very small ones. I was shocked when I seen your’s. I mean, you have a
BED in there, you can stand up in that thing. It’s awesome !!!

  3. Nicely done conversion so far. Wouldn’t expect anything less from someone with your background.

The helmet joke — OMG! Now I know what to do with my old helmet!

    • It’s funny that you mention this because it is one of those things where it feels like you’re never allowed to be sad or have any other emotion than happy but the blessing of the whole thing is that it seems to help lift you up when you’re down 😊

  4. Practical and beautiful, wish I had the knowledge to build one myself. I’m currently live in the unUnited Kingdom lol and they are fixing to ban the van movement.

    • @Happys Trails I’m female and I find it scary to be alone and have someone knocking in the middle of the night. You have a puppy that probably knows before anyone something is outside.

    • @shannon crook Yeah they usually only happens if you park in the wrong spot and it’s usually a police officer but still it’s a little unnerving

    • @shannon crook Like I said it takes a while to learn the ropes find the right abs to tell you where you can camp card and eventually you get comfortable on the road. I just try to be upfront and honest with everybody so they know what to expect.

  5. let me just say You ARE TRULY AMAZING Jason!!!! You are someone I would love to be friends with…Just enjoy Your life and i am sending continuing VIBES of happiness, protection and LOVE! <3

    • Thank you so much for your kind words. I really appreciate it. I hope you subscribed to my channel and Instagram to stay in touch

  6. I was waiting to hear about how you cook. I guess you do it outside. Also, I’m surprised you can keep it red. No law against it?

  7. Awesome rig. Your furry friend is gorgeous. Thank you so much for the tour. Happy and safe travels. Beep your horn if you travel thru Oklahoma . 😁🇺🇸
