She Started With Only $3000 And Built This Incredible Tiny House!

In this weeks episode we meet an inspiring young woman who started with only $3000 and built an incredible tiny for herself. You never know what you can accomplish until you try and that’s exactly what Sophie discovered when she set out to construct her DIY tiny house.

This is a tiny home that has been beautifully crafted with love and creativity. To keep costs down, many of the items in this have been -loved and up-cycled which helps to give the a real sense of character.

Now parked up on a spot in Byron Bay, Queensland, this home is surrounded by beautiful permaculture gardens and is totally off-grid, capturing rain water and with a good sized solar set-up. Sophie has all she needs in her house.

This tiny project has also enabled Sophie to create a workshop space in her home, where she now weaves her own beautiful textiles on a vintage loom. You can find out more about her artistic work via her website: https://scribblygumweavings.com/

We hope you enjoy the tour of this remarkable tiny and meeting the wonderful woman who built it.

  1. This handcrafted tiny house is a work of art. I really love stories like this one. For those who decide to take on the journey of building their own homes with no prior experience, often, it’s one of the most difficult things they will ever do. It’s often also one of the most rewarding. Sophie’s story is a wonderful example of what is possible. We hope you enjoy this episode! With Love, Bryce & Rasa

  2. You’ve got to admire the positivity of the ‘nice and simple’ reply to what essentially is “and this is the bucket I poop in”.

  3. Absolutely beautiful, not sure if I will be able to put it in words – I love the way Sophie has put her energy both into creating her home and into her current work. Thank you for the inspiration!

  4. Was a teacher, and finished work at the end of last year… I hear you sister. 🙏🏻
Great tiny house, great spot. Love the fire.
