Shipping Container, Tiny House & Cabin Combine To Create Epic 5 Bedroom Home

This weeks video combines three of my favourite things. A cabin, a tiny house and a shipping container. Put together in this instance they create a fantastic 5 bedroom home designed to be perfect for extended family.

The three structures work harmoniously together and have been placed around a garden oasis making this place a truly wonderful place to and for family to gather.

In many ways, having seperate smaller structures such as tiny homes and shipping containers working together like this provides more options for families, extended families or even guest accommodation and the separate structures provide additional privacy and separation.

There’s a lot to love here! From a wonderfully built tiny home, constructed from SIPS and with sustainable material’s at the forefront of its construction, to an epic shipping container home which has been renovated from a container that was originally used as a relocatable bank. This is a home that’s full of stories and which is ready to create more to be told around the fire.

We hope you enjoy the full video tour of this very special place.

  1. A tiny house, a shipping container and a cabin! This set-up has something for everyone. All it’s maybe missing is a treehouse! I love how this place has become such an incredible hub for Gavin’s family. We hope you enjoy the tour! WIth love, Bryce & Rasa

  2. Love the set up. Good thinking.. my middle child wants to live together for ever with something set up like this I could do it..

  3. Another great video 🙌🙌🙌
Stylish, well thought out place. Looks perfect for gathering the whānau. Love how it started with what was accessible and it’s grown and developed into such a polished, well developed property. Great work!

  4. Wow, wow, WOW
    Absolutely Fantastic
Well done, Gavin, and thank you for sharing Your Oasis with us,
So many wonderful features, all the way down to the Black and White steps
    Love and Rainbows

  5. I’m sure $600,000 is a good price for that area, but approximately $300,000 was spent on the tiny house and the cabin (the shipping containers were free). I’ve been watching tiny house videos for years, with prices being $35,000-$100,000, so prices have taken a huge leap! This home is a beautiful complex and a great use of resources. It’s always a good feeling to know you’re living at a fraction of the price and enjoying your space even more!

  6. Love this, not only for its design and location, but especially because it is really focussed on family and fun. What a lovely guy Gavin is to share his wonderful home with those he loves most!
