Teenage woman builds “Tree House Getaway” Tiny House for UNDER $2k!

Meet Sarah McClellan (daughter of Cob/Earth/Mud builder “”) as she takes us through her self-built funky, unconventional, fun, and ultra-affordable home- one built IN and around seven trees. This house utilizes salvage and secondhand materials and a variety of construction techniques from the usage of S.I.P.s (structurally insulated panels), to live edge woodwork and trim, earth-building, and more. This two story home not only saved Sarah a ton of money and gave her a place of her very own to live in her teenage years and beyond, but also later served as means of rental income for her family- the earnings of which went towards her college tuition.

    • @BookCade NB you also could take this opportunity to take a few minutes out of your day and truly think about what I said. But you’re not. It’s frustrating as a woman to constantly be reduced to our appearance and this young woman is barely legal and is already having to deal with it. I just wish when women actually told men these things that they would take on board what we are saying. But over and over it seems we are talking to brick walls. Like the only time men can ever have empathy and compassion for women and our voices and opinions is when it directly relates to them. Anyway, i hope before you send me an angry response that you take a few minutes to really hear what I’m trying to say. It’s not about free speech it’s about seeing women as more than a walking poster for men to gawk at.

    • @Temps I never once implied she was a walking poster for men to gawk at. Stating that a person (male or female) is attractive is nothing more than a simple compliment. I did not ‘cat-call’ her nor imply anything sexual. YOU took my comment as something it was not. I will never apologies for giving a person a compliment, period. It is not my, nor anyone else’s responsibility to cater to everyone’s constant butthurt by every word that comes out of their mouths these days. I get it, you have some issue in life (or in your past) that wasn’t pleasant/fair/comfortable/consensual and you are taking your own demons out on me. That’s fine, do as you wish, but I will not change because of something that happened to you.

    • @BookCade NB You obviously don’t get it. It’s the exact same as catcalling but you’re just doing it behind the comfort of a screen where you get to be anonymous. I highly doubt if that 18 year old walked past you with her dad in the street you’d say the same things. The point is, her appearance has nothing to do with this video. You can shout “people can’t say anything these days” all you want. Good. Women are sick of being constantly objectified and yeah, we’re finally speaking up about it. You can just keep on ignoring it while you hang onto your “rights” but times are changing whether you like it or not. I will not be replying again because you obviously didn’t think about or take on anything that I said. Bye bye.

    • @Temps Not even close to catcalling. I agree that Women get degraded by Men all the time and it’s past time to put a stop to it, this wasn’t one of those instances. Bye to you as well.

    • Sislertx—-Well , he just said that they had a problem with leaks .  She should be complimented for her work ethic . However , this is more like a hunting cabin or fishing cabin than a place that anyone would live in for an extended time  .

  1. So, why is her gender relevant? Are you amazed that a SHE can learn do “man’s work”? Wow. Good for her. Figured out a hammer and a saw!
