Tiny House Sports A Glass Roof!

Tiny houses make use of all different kinds of roofing materials. Tons of them. But this tiny house in Louisville, Kentucky is one-of-a-kind in that the ceiling is made out of glass. What? Most folks would think that means super a super hot interior. Not the case. The glass is UV resistant and prevent the whole greenhouse effect thing taking place. Enjoy the tour. 1. Some very lovely elements and some not so hot. The glass roof is absolutely awesome, assuming it travels well. The “leg-over” boxes don’t look that functional since you’d still have to crawl around on knees to get in and out of bed and loft – they are eyesores in the living room, especially with the cheap trim on them . Not much space between stovetop and micro, with no mention of any exhaust fan. The box surrounding the water heater is blocking the toilet tank so it looks like you can’t lift it. Window shades as closet doors look flimsy. In all it looks like a good solid build but with some cheap and poorly applied finishes. Probably wouldn’t take much to improve that and if another commenter is correct about the price being around 80 grand, then it might be worth it to take on and do a bit of alteration and add some solar.

  2. 1) No fire escape in the bedroom. BAD IDEA. 2) Carpeted steps? No. 3) Gigantic window in the bath? Why? 4) Hole in the bedroom floor to break a leg in, why? 5) Fake stained glass door? No. 6) Too many colors and types of material. You should hire an interior decorator to get advice on your next build. A lot of work and money goes into these, they should all look like craftsman houses. Look up craftsman bungalows and study pictures. It shouldn’t look like a 1980’s RV trailer inside.

  3. My dream is partial glass walls!!! I would love a glass ceiling! !!!!πŸ™ŒπŸ™ŒπŸ™ŒπŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸŽŠπŸŽŠπŸŽˆπŸŽ‰πŸŽŠπŸŽŠπŸŽˆ

  4. I really love this place. I wish i had money to get it and also a place to put it. Maine has some hard rules on tiny house’s and my mom and dad want me to have one but the rules need to change before I get a tiny house.

  5. I think this is the first tiny house I’ve seen with honest-to-goodness clothes closets. I would want some sort of a rail on the loft. Otherwise, this is a well-designed house.

  6. i love the glass roof and shower! really thoughtful layout. the stand up boxes upstairs would be a big relief to me and alleviate the sense of claustrophobia sufficiently. i wish i could make you an offer but i have been trying to sell my home for a year now.

  7. Well I loved this house and it gives me more ideas when I have my own tiny home. By far one of the best walk through videos on this site. Usually a slide show of pics. Love the glass roof! If I were ready to buy I’d be on the road tonight!
