I took a visit to go to SMS Eco-Village outside of Ashville N.C. to get some tiny home tips. This small village was setup to be a debt free, self sustainable group with a big backyard and neighborhood shower and restroom. I heard them say that these wood 100 sq ft tiny homes only cost about $10,000. This is one method to stay debt free and close to nature. A more hassle-free life. Way to go guys!!!!
They are too small. I live in a simple house that would be considered much
smaller than the norm. These are just beyond human limits. I’d love to hear
how folks get on though. But they are too small.
live in a tool shed…brilliant…the obama solution to health insurance
costs.
I think its a great idea like you said one or two people max but again
living 5 feet from your neighbour is what I am entirely trying to remedy.
Also, these are not possible in our province, you have to first build (or
one must exist on the property) a 1000 square foot house before they allow
you to put these up. And even at that, they may cry about it being over
8’2″ with loft. Hard reality in Canada but so be it.
Id like to see up close while in the area in a couple months to come.
Once the garden is in, you should consider putting in a beehive. You’d
easily be able to produce enough honey for you all, as long as you had
plenty for the bees to eat year-round. They’ll greatly increase the
pollination of your fruit trees, resulting in a better yield every year.
Plant some scented natives between the toilet block and the ‘village’ to
keep the smell pleasant. Good luck! I’d love to be involved in something
this awesome (but I think I’d struggle living in anything so small).
I will support you sir. The more you own, the more you have to care for and
the less time you have for life. LESS IS MORE AND MORE IS LESS.
The garden is gorgeous!
Do you live there? I’ve been researching the Tiny Home Movement. I think
300 square feet is good for me and most that want to make the move. That is
not a trailer built house though…that would need county zoning
approval…blah blah. You know what I’m saying. Nice community bro!
there’s no heating in the small homes what happens in the winter?
In nearly all areas A 10ftx10ft building does not need approval. Especially
if it does not have pumbing.
Go down to HomeDepot and give them $2000 and you could live in one today!!
Why delay? Start now!!
sure..i’ll gather up all my loose change and dig thru the sofa and head
right down there lol I will probably be about $1994 short tho .
Perhaps you are inside your house too much then if the size of these houses
bother you.
I don’t speak as an outsider. I too live this way. However, my flat has
much more room. I think there is a limit. Your houses could have built much
larger and more comfortable for very little extra cost.
Where are the people?
Yes, I suppose that is true. Cheers!
I could live in a tiny house with a washroom and a little piece of land..
but shared washroom? when it’s raining and snowing? really? Why not put 4
metres between each house? Do they photograph better pushed together.. do
you like hearing your neighbours fuck? Come on guys, what a depressing
community.

What a dump! Glorified fishing hut.
are they HUD approved LOL!!!!!
10,000.00 dollars are you serious??? you could do a lot more with that much
cash! I just could not live in one of those huts, I love the idea of tiny
homes and all but this is a bit much and very reminiscent of a Commune type
situation rather than a community , Kinda Scary! Sorry
Hang the doors backwards so they open to the outside.
one fart and it’s over
Look ! Real wood !!! A tree !!!
