  1. another great one!…i’ve always been intrigued by the idea of living on a
boat!…i hope you two indulged in those margaritas afterwards…hehehe…:D

  2. Alex and Deek, the superstars of tiny house videos. Another interesting
tour. P.S. I like how Alex waves in the mirror’s reflection in the crapper.

  3. Deek, need to get on HDTV with your own show!!!! You should submit a tape
to them. Pietown Productions in LA does alot of HGTV work. Good luck buddy,
    and keep the videos commin!!!!!!!!

  4. Thanks for posting this video. I’m preparing to hit the road with my
housecar before too long, and am always looking for tips on storage, small
items, multiple use things, etc. The Sacramento delta calls, also, with
hundreds of miles of interesting shorelines, lots of wildlife and many
quite places, away from the skiers and other high-speed traffic. For that,
I’d need some kind of boat, and such a sailboat would have multiple uses.

  5. i still use boxy type tv’s in all rooms…had a flat panel it lasted 2 yrs
and paid $1400 for it .now back to old school tube 32in i’ve had since the
    90’s

  6. Nice work, saw Deek, so u are vetted ! Subscribed and looking forward to
see more. Check out my Video of soon to be off grid Condo, MY NEW TO ME

  7. Wayne and Garth live! Hey, If living on a boat is so great then where is
the owner? I tried living on my boat. You should too. Made me crazy with
all the expensive boat issues being right there staring at me every
morning. So, with that in mind, where does the “owner person” hide the
mini-bar. Is this society so p.c. now that you two very cool wayne’s world
guys did not bother to even make mention of a blender? Nanny state bites.

  8. Don’t venture too far from the coast and always check weather reports
before leaving the docks if you don’t have electronics for that.

  9. Depends on a lot of different factors, Sailboats can cost anywhere from
5,000.00 to 550,000. and sometimes even WAY more than that. The larger the
boat, the more the cost of purchase. But there are deals everywhere. If you
are living at a marinia you can figure on spending a certain amount per
month, 250.00 or in some more popular high scale places the 250 a month
plus 50.00 a foot for the boat. Or just the 50.00 a foot. Reserach helps
with docking a lot. Add to all this the amount of up keep.

  10. Depends on where you are and what you WANT to do… I have known live
abords that were teachers, writers, retirees, lawyers, doctors, Sailing
instructors. Boat builders, and even people that worked in a resturant. If
you are a live aboard and are planning on traveling the world in your
boat… Take with you skills that other countries might need. Like English
teachers. or builders or something of that nature. Some work for 6 months
out of the year, and sail for the other 6 months.

  11. Well, I’ve only lived in one marina so far. 90% of the people are nut
cases. I can’t say I’m not part of that higher percentage…

  12. What boats are good live-ins for people who can’t walk. I like water under
me and not be moored to a single location. There is just my wife and me
now, but would like to have accommodations for one more. I’m 64 and have
been an architect, but prefer now to paint and make artistic movies.

  13. The catalina is a nice small lake boat, or a good marina boat. Perfect for
sitting in if you don’t need to go anywhere serious.

  14. Catalinas are great, basic fun. I did a lot of mods to a 46 footer. I tried
to talk my new bride into living on a boat, she would have nothing to do
with it. 10 years later after living in a 12’x12′ shed on the Big Island,
she thinks living on a boat would be fun….that is just the way it goes.

  17. for living on? I would say the hunter 38. You will find it to be the most
easy boat to sail because of the in mast main sail and furling jib.

  18. Nice tour but a small correction is definitely needed. Since folks have
been living happily and successfully aboard for hundreds (thousands?) of
years yer might say “RVs are rolling boats/land yachts but NEVER that live
aboard boats are “floating RVs.” The only land vehicles to claim such a
long heritage are gypsy wagons. And pickup truck campers, “bug-out”
vehicles & utility trailers with propane stoves & sleeping bags are nice
and have their use but they ain’t the same. AAARGH! Capn Lan

  19. Not all boats are meant to liveaboard, nor cross oceans! Catalina’s are
designed as weekend family boat’s, nothing more or less and they do a great
job as an inexpensive way to get on the water.

  20. Catalina 36s are great coastal cruisers, solid on the water, and spacious
inside. I’m 6’4″ and my wife is 6′ tall, so we seriously wanted a boat we
could stand up in and sleep in. Got an air mattress and with a couple of
battens across the cabin sole, turns the main cabin settees into a full
king size bed. Why someone dislikes these boats, I don’t know. Mine has
been in the Transpac to Hawaii and back twice.

  21. They’ve done Transpacs (mine twice) and circumnavigations. They are solid
coastal cruisers and for those who want to race, do well with time adjusted
speeds. One can disparage any make or model, and that’s a long-standing
dock tradition. But, really, why? Each boat has advantages and
disadvantages. Some more than others, but price per pound, Catalinas are
    hard to beat.

  22. The boat shown is an original C-36, (Mk I), like mine, so price range would
be from $30,000 to around $55,000 mattering on condition, equipment, etc.

  23. Hey Sminkletitz??? Your a fine one to talk??? What if you buy a new BMW and
it blows up. Its ok, you’ll get yours.

  24. what do you do with the human waste? how much are docking/ anchoring
charges? I want to live aboard a sailboat but I’m an artist and need
storage space for my paintings. Is this possible?

  25. You carry your waste till you dock and for docking charges it varies but if
you anchor out in a lake or somthing its free. Storage depends on each boat
but just so you know that owning a sailboat is quite a chore=less time for
    your painting or whatever…
